When Dr. Cassandra Richard, DMD, decided to expand the footprint of her growing family dental practice, she was fortunate not to have to look too far. Another dental practice, located in the suite next door to hers, in a medical building in Salem, was soon to become available. The dentist next door was preparing to retire, so Dr. Richard bought the space. What followed was a well-choreographed renovation and expansion project. Wellen was engaged early in the planning process, and helped to coordinate the project, working closely with the architect, interior designer, and equipment supplier.

In the first phase, Wellen gutted the older practice next door, and built out five new treatment rooms and a new entrance/lobby area. When phase 1 was completed, Dr. Richard and her team moved into the new space to keep seeing patients, while we began to work on renovating and redesigning her existing clinic. When phase 2 was completed, both areas were integrated. The result was a near-doubling of the clinical space. The 3,500 sq. ft. practice now has 10 treatment rooms, a consultation room, expanded office space, new kitchen, and staff lounge, as well as a large lab and sterilization area. This project was completed in March 2021.
