Marcus Swann, DMD, has a unique model for delivering dental care on Cape Cod. Rather than rely on dental insurance coverage, he works directly with patients, providing affordable, high-quality care, based on a fee-for-service model that anyone can utilize. This open-model practice grew dramatically and Dr. Swann needed to expand. Working closely with an architect, Wellen remodeled an 1,800 square-foot space, in the same professional building where Direct Pay Dental was located. The project required demolition down to structural elements, then complete new construction of a modern dental office. The new space includes four patient treatment rooms and associated support areas. The new office doubles the capacity of Dr. Swann’s practice. Also, during the construction of Dr. Swann’s new office space, Wellen identified some general repairs the building needed. We were subsequently engaged by the building owner to complete the necessary repairs and some cosmetic renovations to the exterior of the complex.
