Suren Chelian, DMD, had a growing orthodontics practice in Nashua, New Hampshire and wanted to add a second clinic to serve patients in Massachusetts. Dr. Chelian found an ideal location in Beverly, in a new upscale retail center anchored by a Whole Foods market. Working closely with the architect Dr. Chelian selected, Wellen built a striking 1,860 sq. ft. contemporary space. The reception area is finished with custom milled curved oak boards on the walls, built-in seating and a reception desk. Above is a vaulted ceiling with a sculpted cloud motif. The open-concept clinical area has four treatment chairs. Nearby are two private consultation rooms with treatment chairs. To maximize the clinical areas and associated laboratory and support spaces, we constructed a second-level mezzanine with nearly 300 square feet of storage accessed by a pull-down stair. This project took four months and was completed in October 2019.
