Expanding their coverage of Rhode Island, Forster Orthodontics purchased two professional condominium units in a new building in Portsmouth to establish its third location in the state. Matt Forster, DMD, developed a design with a colleague and engaged Wellen to manage construction. Beginning with the shell space of two units, we restructured the space into a single, two-story unit, with open beams, an atrium, and large windows to bring in natural light. The 4,500 square-foot space has nine treatment areas, associated laboratory and support spaces. We installed a dumb-waiter (small elevator) to transport samples and equipment from the treatment areas, upstairs to the lab. A staff lounge and conference room were built on the second floor.
